This month I am driving the all new Volkswagen Tiguan, launched in the second half of 2016, available from Rola Volkswagen Hermanus . The five-door, five-seat new Tiguan is 60mm longer and 30mm wider than the previous model car it replaces and has all the similarities to its sister the Golf.
The VW Tiguan may be one of the smaller SUV’s but I found it had plenty of leg room up front for my long legs. With loads of adjustment in the seat and steering wheel, and I found plenty of “secret” storage compartments for all my odds and ends. I liked that I could keep chocolates in the cooled glove compartment without them melting.
The rear space of the VW Tiguan impressed me, with enough leg room for three adults to sit comfortably, without having to move the front passenger seat forward.
Isofix child seat fittings are standard for the outer rear seats. It’s not only the youngsters who would appreciate the folding tables that you get as standard on the backs of the front seats, I even enjoyed lunch on this. These folding tables even have a groove to stand tablets up in, as well as a cupholder.
