Every year Societi Bistro add a culinary tour to their menu, for ten weeks.
It starts with a ten week culinary tour through Italy followed by a
culinary tour through France. This is a perfect way to sample various dishes from these countries, all from the comfort of your chair.
Last week, I was invited by Societi Bistro to try out their Central France menu which launched on Wednesday 26 July.
I have always enjoyed Soceti Bistro in Summer and always sit outside. Last week on a wintery day I walked into a packed restaurant warmed up by a lovely fireplace. The hustle and bustle of Cape Town is easily left behind as you get transported to a warm rustic bistro environment .
The menu was the cuisine of central France, the great thing about this menu is that it’s not a set price, so you can add items from their regular menu.
For starters I enjoyed the Cauliflower Soup. This was smooth and creamy, with incredible flavours. I could easily go back just for this soup.
Cassoulet was the mains dish , this was outstanding. My only complaint is that it was too much food for me to finish. This was perfectly paired with a bottle of Delaire Graff Botmaskop.
This culinary tour ended with Cherry Ice Cream for dessert , which was so scrumptious. This was the perfect end to a filling meal.
