Paws in the air for Bloubergs new Doggy Day Care!

The Woofshack is a home based dog boarding facility based in Blouberg offering daily, overnight, weekend and long term holiday accommodation for social dogs.

It’s run by Cathy Lewthwaite who has a special love and bond for her furry guests, and she cares for each guest as if they were her own pets.

Dogs are supervised by Cathy and her husband Craig at all times, and are never left alone. There is a lot space for them at The Woof Shack to run around and play to their hearts content.

I have been sending Leia to The Woof Shack for over 16 months for both boarding and doggie day care, and she gets so excited when she knows we’re going there.  You can already feel the love when you arrive at their front gate.

I travel a lot and knowing that Leia is being cared for by Cathy makes it easier for me to be away from her . At the end of each day I receive at least 6 photos of what Leia  has been up to with her furry friends.   My dog has a more active social life than me, I realized this when my dog was greeted by name when I walked into Bootleggers in Seapoint for the first time. Leia is a regular there with Cathy.

Its incredible to see how my pup  has transformed from a shy scared rescue dog to a “paw-fect” , confident pup, who absolutely loves her time at The Woof Shack. (I think Leia has a secret crush on Craig).

Cathy takes her doggy guests for at least two walks a day at different spots around Blouberg and even travels all the way to Tokai to vary the walks and to keep it interesting for their furry guests.

 They also spend time with their doggy-guests at various dog friendly beaches where they get to play and socialize with other dogs.

The Woof Shack takes a maximum of 7-8 dogs at any one time to ensure personal and quality attention for each dog. Their doggy clients travel from Constantia and Seapoint to stay with them, which is a true testament of their incredible service.

I would highly recommend The Woof Shack to any dog owner. They treat your dog exactly how you would want your dog to be treated.  My dog is happy every time she goes there, therefore I am happy.
